ABOUT
The SPBL was an 18U Provincial wide league, established in 2011 by Leo MacDonald with support from Baseball Saskatchewan. With Charlie Meacher serving as the first President of the SPBL, teams from North and South divisions would now compete under one united conference in a 30-game schedule. The outcome of the league standings determines the seeding of each team in Provincial Playdowns. Teams advancing out of the Provincial Championship move on to represent Saskatchewan at Western Canadian and Canadian National Championships.
The SPBL has grown into a respected developmental league among Canadian and US Colleges. Players are advancing at greater rates into CCBA, CCBC, NCAA, NAIA and NJCAA College programs. SPBL alumni have also been selected into MLB drafts.
Former SPBL player Logan Hoffman from the Muenster Red Sox became Saskatchewan’s highest ever MLB draft pick, being selected in the 5th Round of the 2020 MLB draft.
