East Central Red Sox capture AAA Provincial Gold

East Central Red Sox AAA 18U topped Regina Wolfpack AAA 18U 6-3 on Sunday.

Regina Wolfpack AAA 18U opened the scoring in the fourth after Carson Brooks singled, scoring two runs.

East Central Red Sox AAA 18U captured the lead, 3-2, in the top of the fifth when Cam Marshak doubled, scoring two runs, and an error scored one run.

Bo Cowan singled, which helped Regina Wolfpack AAA 18U tie the game at three in the bottom of the fifth.

In the top of the seventh, East Central Red Sox AAA 18U broke up the tie when Cade Armstrong singled, scoring two runs. Then a sacrifice fly by Merek Yeager followed to extend the lead to 6-3.

Joel Bauml earned the win for East Central Red Sox AAA 18U. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and three runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Vince Vollet took the loss for Regina Wolfpack AAA 18U. They went four and one-third innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits, striking out two and walking four. Carter Dosch pitched two innings of no-run ball for East Central Red Sox AAA 18U in relief. The reliever gave up three hits, striking out none and walking none.

Dallen Rude and Marshak each collected two hits for East Central Red Sox AAA 18U. Armstrong and Marshak each drove in two runs for East Central Red Sox AAA 18U. East Central Red Sox AAA 18U turned one double play in the game.

Regina Wolfpack AAA 18U accumulated 10 hits in the game. Nathan Houston, Thomas Stawarz, and Karter Scott each collected two hits for Regina Wolfpack AAA 18U. Brooks and Cowan each drove in one run for Regina Wolfpack AAA 18U.


East Central advances to Nationals in Ft. McMurray, Alberta August 17-20 while the Regina Wolfpack will compete at Western Canadians August 18-20 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
