Regina WhiteSox rally falls short as Regina Buffalos advance to Provincial Gold medal game

  • Regina WhiteSox fought back after falling down by five runs in the fifth inning. The comeback fell just short though, in a 9-8 defeat to Regina Buffalos on Sunday. Regina WhiteSox scored five runs in the failed comeback on a triple by Dominic Waschuk in the fifth, a groundout by Colby Whyte in the fifth, a double by Luke Henning in the sixth, and a single by Waschuk in the sixth.



  • Regina WhiteSox was right in it until Regina Buffalos singled in the seventh inning.

  • Regina Buffalos got things started in the second inning when Ryan Schneider singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

  • Regina WhiteSox knotted the game up at eight in the bottom of the sixth inning. Waschuk drove in two when Waschuk singled.

  • Regina WhiteSox put up three runs in the sixth inning. The offensive firepower by Regina WhiteSox was led by Henning and Waschuk, who each had RBIs in the inning.

  • Regina Buffalos scored three runs in the fifth inning. Carter Wolensky, Carter Miller, and Maddex Kuntz all drove in runs in the frame.

  • Cole Hachkewich was on the mound for Regina Buffalos. The righty allowed eight hits and eight runs over six innings, striking out four.


  • Justin Shanner led things off on the pitcher's mound for Regina WhiteSox. The righthander went four and a third innings, allowing eight runs on nine hits and striking out four. Elijah Thomas and Vincent Vollet entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

  • Regina WhiteSox tallied eight hits. Waschuk and Henning all had multiple hits for Regina WhiteSox. Henning and Waschuk all had three hits to lead Regina WhiteSox.

  • Regina Buffalos had 13 hits in the game. Dylan Geiss, Hachkewich, and Miller each racked up multiple hits for Regina Buffalos. Geiss went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Regina Buffalos in hits.
