Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Saskatoon Brewers AAA 15U

It came down to the wire on Sunday at Bessel Field, as Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U grabbed the victory in walk-off fashion, 7-6, over Saskatoon Brewers AAA 15U. Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U were down 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Evan Helt singled, scoring two runs.


Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U rallied for the victory despite trailing 6-0 in the fifth.


Saskatoon Brewers AAA 15U opened the scoring in the third after Blaise Baier homered to center field, scoring two runs.


Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the seventh, scoring seven runs on six hits to take a 7-6 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a double by Rowen Blechinger on an 0-2 count that drove in two.


Jake Hofmann earned the win for Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U. The reliever surrendered one hit and zero runs over one inning, striking out none and walking none. Blechinger opened the game for Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U. The righty allowed seven hits and five runs over four and one-third innings, striking out three and walking one. George Pelrine opened the game for Saskatoon Brewers AAA 15U. They allowed four hits and one run over six innings, striking out 11 and walking two. Brayden Bater tossed one inning of zero-run ball for Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U in relief. The righty surrendered zero hits, striking out none and walking none.


Helt and Hofmann each collected two hits for Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U. Helt and Blechinger each drove in two runs for Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U. Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U turned one double play in the game. Saskatoon Astros AAA 15U were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Helt had the most chances in the field with eight.


Saskatoon Brewers AAA 15U amassed 11 hits in the game. Gage Berg drove the middle of the lineup, leading Saskatoon Brewers AAA 15U with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Baier set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Saskatoon Brewers AAA 15U with three hits in four at bats. The Astros now travel to Winnipeg for the Western Canadian Championships.
