Boston Bast collected three hits in three at bats, as Saskatoon Giants AAA 18U defeated Saskatoon Diamondbacks AAA 18U 5-1 on Sunday at Optimist. Bast tripled in the seventh inning, singled in the first inning, and singled in the third inning.
Saskatoon Giants AAA 18U were the first to get on the board in the second when Jackson Fox singled, scoring one run.
Saskatoon Giants AAA 18U added one run in the third after Reid Issel singled.
Cohen Paul started the game for Saskatoon Giants AAA 18U. The starting pitcher gave up seven hits and one run (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out none and walking one. Joel Davidson stepped on the bump first for Saskatoon Diamondbacks AAA 18U. They surrendered eight hits and three runs over four innings, striking out six and walking two.
Issel drove the middle of the lineup, leading Saskatoon Giants AAA 18U with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-3 on the day.

The Giants will travel to St. John’s Newfoundland and Labrador for the Canadian National Championships.
