The SPBL came up big with hardware at the SaskBaseball awards night.
Carter Beck was named Player of the Year
Beck of the 18U AAA SouthEast Twins led the SPBL AAA league in Batting avg at .456, Slugging Percentage at .835 and an OPS of 1.404. Beck also had impressive numbers of the mound picking up 2 wins with an era of 0.00 and a whip of 1.308 over 13 innings pitched.
Gerritt Gulutzan was named the Minor Player of the Year.
Gulutzan lead the MooseJaw 15U AAA with a batting avg of.362 , 9 doubles, 4 triples and 4 homeruns and an ops of 1.030 Gulutzan also contributed on the mound posting an era of 4.75 and a whip of 1.329
The 18U AAA Saskatoon Cubs are the Team of the Year. The SPBL Champions were 28-7 and placed 4th at the Nationals.
Coach of the Year Scott Fry lead the Saskatoon Cubs in that Team of the Year season.
SPBL Past President Charlie Meacher won the LifeTime Achievement award. Meacher with an impressive resume and dedication to baseball in Saskatchewan was the first President of the SPBL in 2011.
